Education is the most powerful weapon one can use to change the world according to Nelson Mandela. ‘Building The Base ‘ was the theme of the one-month volunteering training support in Eket LGA for SS1 to 3 by Rotary international Eket Grooves in collaboration with psychomodelling Health And Wellness Initiative (PHAWI)

The young ones had the opportunity to be trained on the basic principles of ‘Decision making, the fundamental principles of successful living and the skills to identify and change unhelpful or inappropriate thinking and behaviours that are problematic.’

On the whole, they were properly informed that thoughts, feelings, and behaviours are connected and as such a road map to understand the internal realities, identify areas of distress and select appropriate interventions was presented by the PHAWI team. These trainings were done toward the realization of the goal of PHAWI which is to groom secured, matured, and confident individuals who can handle pressures thrown at them by human and non-human factors in their physical, social, and psychological environments.
